How Business Card Design Works

Business card design example

The BCD workflow has four stages: choose a package, send the brief, review the concepts, and receive the final production files. The process covers design and file preparation, not physical printing.

1. Choose the package

Pick Silver, Gold, or the Premium Stationery package based on the number of concepts, revision rounds, turnaround, and whether matching stationery is required.

2. Send the final information

Provide the exact name, role, company, phone, email, website, address, license or credential details when relevant, logo files, brand guidance, print size, and references. If a printer has already been selected, send its template before final artwork.

3. Review the design concepts

BCD creates the concepts from scratch. Review hierarchy, spacing, typography, brand fit, contact accuracy, and how the card will be printed. Give grouped feedback so one revision round can address connected changes together.

4. Approve the production files

After approval, BCD prepares the print-ready files and source artwork included in the package. Special production layers can be built from the printer's specification.
