Print-ready business card files are artwork prepared to a printer's size, bleed, safe-area, color, resolution, and production requirements. A visual mockup is not a substitute for final production artwork.
Which specifications matter?
Card dimensions, bleed, safe area, color mode, embedded or outlined type where requested, image resolution, trim marks when requested, and separate spot layers for finishes can change from printer to printer. The printer's specification is the source for the final setup.
What changes when foil or emboss is used?
Foil, emboss, letterpress, die cutting, and spot varnish commonly require separate vector shapes or spot-color layers. Fine lines, reversed type, registration tolerances, and minimum element sizes can limit what survives production.
